Ruth Mackman Celebrant
As an independent funeral celebrant, I am there to help you create a ceremony that reflects and celebrates the life of the person who has died. I will talk to you to find out more about the person, what made them special, how they lived their life. I understand how important it is for some family or friends to speak during the service, but that it's not the easiest thing to do. I will support anyone who wishes to speak on the day. Alternatively, if you'd like me to write and deliver all of the ceremony, I will use your memories to create a eulogy, or a tribute, to the person. I can help you to decide whether you want readings, music or any prayers or spiritual content. I am guided by your wishes, but will offer my suggestions and advice if appropriate. I will work with your funeral director, if you are using one, to ensure the service goes smoothly.
I am happy to take cremations or burials in Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire. These can be held in recognised settings, such as crematoria chapels, graveside, and natural burial sites. Or you might wish to choose a place that has special meaning for a service, such as a park, a bank on the river, or a favourite venue. I also provide memorial ceremonies, scattering or interment of ashes ceremonies and a eulogy writing service. If you’d like a ceremony a little further afield, please do ask – I can usually be very flexible.
More people are thinking about their own funeral – I’m happy to help you pre-plan and even write your ceremony. You might have very clear ideas about what you do or don't want to happen, and you might want to ensure your loved ones are spared having to make difficult choices. I’m always happy to talk about options.
